Blogging spree

That’s my first post in this blog. The idea of having blog in English arose a lot of time ago but I always had some lame excuses for myself to not do that. But two weeks ago I’ve added ForeignKey to Site to blog.Post model in Byteflow (which naturally reflects my posts in blog ;-)) along with DynamicSiteMiddleware and that allows me to simultaneously have two blogs on different domain serving by single Byteflow instance, what, I think, is rather cool. :D

So… welcome to exhaust of my blogging spree, hope you will enjoy it! ;-)

QC, heh? :)

BTW, the first thing to do improving your English language skills is to get handy with the articles. I could explain some rules later if you want.

PS The scene from my old Denmark-related job:

Lars: When Konstantin sent us the first version of the first contract, there were almost no articles!

Yeah, articles has always been my main trouble. ;-) I’ve fixed mistake that you’ve noticed.

Alexander Solovyov , 18:15

And you have introduced a few new ones :)

Yeah, the articles were always my main trouble (problem/issue?). ;-) I’ve fixed the mistake that you’ve noticed.

There are only 3 types of articles we talk about: the definite one (a/an), the indefinite (the) and the null article, hence “the articles”. If we say about the articles as a class, we should use “the” too.

You don’t tell about some result, so the Past Simple is more appropriate. There are results in the second sentence so the Present Perfect is OK.

The mistake”, because that is the mistake we know about.

PS That’s how “almost no articles” looks like :]

Yah! It`s a good lesson! Thanks a lot ;)… but actually the main problem is usage of your knowledge in real situation, we just forget everything what we know :)

I suppose the best teacher is practice… a lot of practice ;)

I speak both English and German and I try to use the correct articles when possible. I must, after all :)

Lars said once that speaking without any articles looks ridiculous.

Fractal , 23:17

BTW, may I correct you a little? :)

… is the usage … in a real …

The rest is very good!

Fractal , 23:23

Yes, you may! :)

Thanks!
